A little bit chaotic. In the best possible way.
I've known Kelsey since she was a baby, so getting to film her wedding was always going to be a bit special.
But then there's Harry.
Kelsey met him when she was just three years old, and somehow, all these years later, I got to stand behind a camera and film the two of them getting married.
He's also absolutely fucking hilarious.
The sort of person whose energy seems to fill whatever room he's standing in. Which, as a wedding videographer, is basically Christmas.
And then there was the rest of the day...
A saxophonist. A band. Tennis. Stilt walkers. Fire breathers.
Because apparently a normal wedding wasn't quite enough.
They got married in Saltmarshe Hall's indoor ceremony space before the day descended into the sort of wonderfully chaotic celebration that makes filming weddings so much fun.
And throughout it all, Amy — the wedding coordinator — was doing what wedding coordinators do best: getting shit done. She was brilliant, completely on it, and thankfully just as funny as everyone else.
It was one of those weddings where you spend the whole day thinking, yep, this is going to make a bloody good film.

Filming at Saltmarshe Hall
Having actually filmed a wedding here, we can tell you one thing straight away: **the light in the ceremony room is bloody brilliant.**
It's naturally bright and airy, which makes a massive difference when you're trying to capture a ceremony without covering the place in lights and equipment. It feels lovely on camera and gives you plenty to work with.
The getting-ready room is a little darker, but there's a simple trick. Turn off the internal lights and make the most of those massive windows. The natural light pouring in gives you a much nicer look and makes for some really lovely prep footage.
And then there's the staircase.
If the weather decides to do what British weather does best, there's still a gorgeous indoor option for portraits and couple shots. We always like having a decent wet-weather plan, and Saltmarshe Hall gives you one without having to resort to standing next to a fire exit.
The grounds are fucking massive!
There's loads of space to explore, with little nooks and crannies dotted around the grounds that give you plenty of options for filming without every shot looking like it was taken in exactly the same place.
We didn't get to use all of it on Kelsey and Harry's day, but the row of trees running along the back of the house is particularly lovely. There's also a pool area and a tennis court, so if your idea of a wedding portrait involves anything more interesting than standing beside a hedge, you're sorted.
And then there's the River Ouse.
We took the drone up during Kelsey and Harry's wedding, and with the river in the background, the aerial footage looked **bloody spectacular**. It's one of those venues where getting the drone up gives you a proper sense of the scale of the place.
